Decent value, room for improvement

I got the monthly subscription to test out the podcast guesting tool and some outreach templates. On the positive side, finding relevant podcasts was quite easy, and the templates were a good starting point. The value for the monthly fee feels fair given what you get. However, I did notice that some of the contact information in the media database, while generally good, was occasionally outdated. It's not a deal-breaker, but it meant a bit more cross-referencing on my end. Customer service was fine when I asked about upgrading plans, though I didn't have any major issues to test their problem-solving. Overall, it's a solid tool, but they could tighten up the database accuracy a bit.

Annual plan saved me money

I was looking for an affordable way to manage my PR without hiring an agency. I opted for the annual subscription for the Solo PR Plan because of the discount compared to monthly billing. The initial investment felt worth it. I mostly used the journalist search engine and the outreach templates. I found it offered good value for money, especially with the annual saving. It definitely felt like a worthwhile purchase for my budget.

Pretty easy to use

Needed to do some press stuff for my startup, so I signed up for the Startup Plan. Honestly, I'm not a PR expert, but the journalist search engine was pretty simple to navigate. I found a few good contacts and sent out some pitches. The AI pitch generator was a lifesaver; I just tweaked what it gave me. Everything felt pretty smooth, and I got my account set up super quick. No complaints, it did what I needed.

Consistent results

I've been using Just Reach Out for over a year now, primarily for their journalist search engine and the email tracking. This time around, I renewed my annual subscription and also added on a PR strategy consultation. Just like before, the service has been reliable. The database is consistently updated, and I appreciate that. The consultation added some good insights; it wasn't a hard sell, just helpful advice. I keep coming back because it just works for my media list management without fuss.

Good tool, some quirks

I purchased the annual subscription for the Solo PR Plan a few months ago. The onboarding process was straightforward, and the interface for the journalist search engine is pretty intuitive. I found several relevant contacts for a client campaign using the media database access, and the AI pitch generator helped me draft initial outreach. Delivery of the service itself was immediate, as expected for software. Customer support was responsive when I had a question about filtering by beat, which was appreciated. My main gripe is that while the email tracking works, sometimes the automated follow-ups felt a bit rigid; customising them more deeply was a bit clunky. Overall, a solid platform for managing outreach, and it definitely saved me time compared to manual searching.

Good for pitches

Signed up for the monthly plan. Used the AI pitch generator and journalist search engine. Found good contacts quickly. Pitches were decent, just needed minor edits. Interface was clear. It worked well.

Can I get a refund if I try Just Reach Out for a month and it's not working out?

E Elizabeth 3 weeks ago
Their refund policy is pretty clear, it's usually within the first 30 days for monthly plans, but you gotta check their site for the exact terms. Don't think they do pro-rated refunds for annual after that initial period.

Yeah, I think it's a 30-day window. Just make sure to cancel before that if you're not feeling it.

Hey, thinking about signing up for Just Reach Out. Anyone know if they ever do lifetime deals? Saw one on AppSumo once but missed it.

S Sandra Phillips 3 weeks ago
Yeah, they did an AppSumo deal a while back. I grabbed it. They don't seem to offer those directly anymore, but you might get lucky if AppSumo brings it back for a limited run.

L Linda Young 3 weeks ago
I think those lifetime deals are super rare now. Your best bet for a discount is usually just going with the annual plan, saves you a good chunk.

Where exactly do I put in a promo code if I find one? Is it on the first sign-up page or later?

R Ryan H. 1 month ago
It's on the billing page, during the checkout process. You'll see a field for it before you finalize payment.

Yeah, don't worry, you won't miss it. It's usually right there when you're about to put in your card details.

I'm looking to sign up for the annual plan. Is there a special promo code I should be looking for, or is the discount just automatic for yearly billing?

M Michael J. 3 weeks ago
Usually, the annual discount is just applied when you select yearly billing, it's like a built-in saving. They do have seasonal codes sometimes though, like around Black Friday.

K Kyle E. 3 weeks ago
Check their social media around big sales events. Sometimes they drop codes there, but the 20% off for annual is standard and automatic at checkout.

Does Just Reach Out offer any specific discounts for non-profits?

A Amanda White 1 month ago
I believe they do! I remember seeing something about non-profit pricing. Best to hit up their sales or support directly to confirm and get details.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I saw that mentioned in their FAQs. Worth asking them directly.

How do you guys feel Just Reach Out compares to Muck Rack? Seems like JRO is a bit cheaper but does it do the same job?

A Aaron Wilson 1 month ago
Muck Rack is definitely more polished and has a bigger database, but for the price, JRO is a solid contender, especially for startups. The AI pitch generator is actually really good. Muck Rack is also way more expensive.

J Jennifer Adams 4 weeks ago
I switched from BuzzStream to JRO and found it much better for finding relevant contacts quickly. Muck Rack is a whole different beast price-wise, so it depends on your budget and scale. JRO is more DIY friendly.

Thinking of trying Just Reach Out for my startup. Is their journalist database actually kept up-to-date? Nothing worse than dead contacts.

M Mark Parker 1 month ago
I've found it pretty good so far. Haven't run into too many bounced emails. They claim to update it regularly, and it feels that way.

M Michelle Harris 1 month ago
It's decent. Not perfect, no database is, but way better than some others I've used. I usually cross-reference with LinkedIn if I'm unsure.
